Kathy’s practice is concentrated in the area of real estate development, assisting developers with permitting, particularly in the areas of local zoning and site plan approvals and state condominium and subdivision registration. She also represents property owners in connection with financing, leasing and conveyancing. In addition to her real estate practice, Kathy also works with candidates and Democratic party committees in matters involving election law, campaign strategy and messaging.

Kathy is well known throughout New Hampshire for her involvement in electoral politics, named as one of New Hampshire’s Top Ten Most Powerful Persons in 2007 and as a Leader for the 21st Century by New Hampshire Business Magazine, as one of New Hampshire’s Top 50 Insiders by Politickernh.com in 2008 and one of New Hampshire’s 10 most influential Democrats by Politics Magazine in 2009. Described as “the architect” of the historic 2006 Democratic victories in New Hampshire by New Hampshire Business Magazine, Kathy served as chairwoman of the New Hampshire Democratic Party for eight years, ending her final term in 2008. In 2014, she was ranked fourth in New Hampshire Journal’s list of the top 60 “most wanted” New Hampshire Democrats for the 2016 presidential campaign.

In 2007, she was the chairwoman of the Draft Jeanne Shaheen for Senate Committee, and New Hampshire Co-Chair for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Kathy was a Senior Advisor for the New Hampshire Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign in 2008, a member of Governor John Lynch’s 2008 Re-election Finance Committee, and one of the state’s 2008 four Electoral College members. In 2012, she was co-chair of Maggie Hassan’s successful New Hampshire gubernatorial campaign. Currently serving as the Democratic Party’s New Hampshire National Committeewoman, she is a former member of the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee. The 2009 Krieger Lecturer on Political Culture at Cornell University, she writes a regular column in the Union Leader, New Hampshire’s largest newspaper.

Governor Hassan appointed Kathy to serve as a member of the Gaming Oversight Authority in 2013. Kathy currently is a member of the New Hampshire Primary Centennial Commission, appointed by former New Hampshire House Speaker Terie Norelli.
