The purpose of this material is to provide the education administrator and human resource director with a general understanding of the law in New Hampshire as it pertains to the employer’s duty of care in recruiting, hiring and contracting, as well as when giving and verifying references. The goal of this material is: 1) to assist the administrator in understanding the law; 2) to educate the administrator on aspects of recruiting, hiring and contracting, including how to give and obtain a sound reference; and, 3) to assist the administrator in understanding the ‘Best Practices’ in this area of their vocation.
