The purpose of this material is to assist the educator in understanding how Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) impact disciplinary and behavioral issues. The goal of this material is to enable educators to properly implement disciplinary and behavioral interventions which comply with the intent of Section 504 and with the requirements of the IDEA.
