Diversity and Inclusion

Wadleigh, Starr & Peters, P.L.L.C. has a long tradition of valuing the diversity of ethnicities, races, religions, national origins, genders and gender expressions, sexual orientation, disabilities, and economic backgrounds that are represented in the community in Manchester and New Hampshire. We believe that our lawyers, staff and our clients benefit from a work environment that respects all aspects of diversity and places value on the differing opinions and experiences which diversity brings. Wadleigh has always sought to hire and promote the most qualified candidates and has succeeded in supporting the professional advancement of many qualified female attorneys. We strive to promote diversity beyond gender and have created a Diversity and Inclusion Committee which focuses on creating new opportunities for lawyers of diverse backgrounds and assuring that our practices continue to promote diversity and inclusivity.

The Wadleigh Women’s Initiative is a program supported by the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. The Initiative aims to provide support for the personal and professional growth of our female attorneys, both within and outside the Firm. The Firm encourages participation in the N.H. Women’s Bar Association and supported its current managing partner who served as the Chairperson of the American Law Firm Association International Women’s Initiative Practice Group. The Wadleigh Women’s Initiative also provides informal mentoring opportunities to young women lawyers. While not formalized, the Firm has been supportive of flexible work schedules and alternative partnership tracks for lawyers of both genders since the early 1990s.
