Eugene M. Van Loan III

Of Counsel

A long-time member of Wadleigh, Gene is starting to wind down his practice and is now serving the firm in an of-counsel capacity.  In recent years, Gene has focused on advising institutional and municipal clients, especially hospitals and school districts, representing local corporate clients and dabbling in litigation involving constitutional issues.  He is the author of “Natural Rights and the Ninth Amendment, “B.U.L.Rev. (1968); “The Jury, the Court-Martial and the Constitution,” Cornell L.Q. (1972).  He also writes frequently on constitutional issues for The Union Leader.  Gene served as counsel to Louis C. Wyman in the U.S. Senate Election Contest, 1974-1975.

Prior to joining the firm Gene was with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, 1967 – 1971, where he held the rank of Captain.
